Cast Bags

What are they?

When casts are taken off little ones, especially babies, parents often want to keep the casts.  Parents are given a “cast bag” to put and keep the casts in.

What do I need?

Cute fabric and cording.

Cutting/sewing Instructions;  The size is approximate.  The bag just needs to be big

enough to hold two small casts.

  1. Cut one piece of fabric approximately 22” x  15”
  2. With right sides together, fold fabric in half to form a 11” x 15” rectangle.  Sew bottom seam (11” wide) and side seam (15” wide).  Note:  On side seam, stop sewing 2” below top of fabrics)
  3. Turn under 1” casing at the top and sew.
  4. Cut one piece of cording about 24” long and thread through casing.  Ties ends together and “Viola! The bag is complete!”

CAST BAGS CAN BE KNIT, CROCHET, SEWN, QUILTED, ETC.
